About Clyde Texas

In 1907 Robert Clyde set his suitcases down under a Burkett Pecan Tree and called the place “home”. More than one hundred years later, people still come to Clyde for its beautiful scenery and small town charm. Each fall Clyde pays homage to its founders by hosting the Pecan Festival which includes a parade, eclectic shopping, homegrown bands, and a Bake-Off where Pecan Pie reigns supreme. Hosted by the Clyde Chamber of Commerce, the Festival is a celebration that sees visitors from all over the State of Texas. Clyde has a full calendar of events for the fall including a 5K, annual Festivals, and a craft Market that meets in the historic downtown old Clyde Firehouse once per month. With the beautiful weather there is plenty of time for fishing, grilling, swimming, and family fun out at Clyde Lake. While you’re in Clyde, be sure to stop by Shady Oaks Golf Course and play a relaxing yet challenging 18 holes. Shady Oaks is situated on some of the most beautiful land you’ll find in Texas and is groomed to perfection with plants that are native to the area. Clyde also houses some unique shopping experiences including several gift shops, a quilt shop, and a brand new Bistro with mouthwatering delicatessen sandwiches, delicious tilapia, and some of the best steak you’ll eat! Whether you are looking for a nice quiet spot to vacation or planning to relocate, Clyde has everything you need. Come be a part of our community!
